This trail was built on the roadbed of the first steam locomotive, the Tom Thumb. It branches off from the north side of the current CSX tracks between the Dorsey Tunnel and the Davis Tunnel, just west of the Eureka Bridge across the Patapsco River. The was raised above the floodplain -- you can see that the land drops off on both sides.
